Objective of course
The student:
-can maintain, develop and evaluate her/his English skills and language learning skills.
-can work orally and in written in English in the multicultural working environment of his/her own professional field.
-understands that foreign language is a key to internationality and international labour markets as well as information acquisition.
-is able to search information needed in his/her own professional field in English from different sources, understand and read it.
-understands that foreign language skills are part of intercultural communication and human education
-can read various texts and instructions needed in laboratory work in English.
-attains the European reference frame level B2

Course contents
Key linguistic and grammatical elements and communication situations required in the
professional field in meaningful contentual contexts.

Teaching methods
Experiential, authentic and cooperative contact teaching and independent work

Assessment methods
Active participation in the planning of own learning, work forms of the course and self-evaluation, written assignments and oral presentations. Examination and/or a language portfolio compiled during the course.

Prerequisites
General upper secondary school syllabus ( A-level) or equivalent skills

Is agreed on in the beginning of the course.
