Objectives
Paper and Chemistry
The students learn the basic principles of organic chemistry and are able to adopt information from the literature and to write research reports. The students learn how to use the equipment in the laboratory and to work independently and in teams.
The students know the dangers of organic chemicals to the environment and can handle the chemicals properly.
The course in organic chemistry forms the basis for professional development taking into account the needs of different specialisation options.
Content
Structure, names, reactions and characteristics of organic substances, reactivity and dangers of compounds, organic laboratory work: synthesis, recognising compounds, defining physical and chemical characteristics, using laboratory equipment.
