Objectives

The students know the characteristics and equipment of the most important mechanical unit processes of the industry. They know the most typical equipment of the production and unit processes and are able to independently solve measuring and balance calculations.
The course strengthens the students’ professional skills.

Content

Separation methods for solids, such as thickening, clarification, flotation, filtering and centrifugation. Handling methods for solids, for example compounding, storing, transport, comminution and granulation. Distillation and evaporation, washing and drying, Manufacturing of solutions (dilution), dispersion, emulsification. Precipitation, screening and heat exchangers.

Other processes of Papermaking, textile production and chemical engineering.

Basics of Chemical Technology (PTK-702) or equivalent
