Code: 12I161

Degree title
Bachelor of Engineering
Credits
240 ects
Duration
4 years (240 cr)
Start semester
Autumn 2012

Description

The engineers who work in manufacturing and production systems develop production methods and manufacturing as well as supervise production. Key terms include cost-effective production in short-run and one-off productions, as well as quality and production design and control, in addition to production automation.
The specialisation option of modern production systems aims to give the students a broad overview on modern workshop technology and automation as well as the abilities needed work in the development, control and supervision tasks of production and manufacturing. The students study in depth computer assisted production, flexible manufacturing systems (FMS), product design and control. An expert on industrial engineering must also have skills regarding quality assurance, measuring technology, material technology, CAD/CAM programming as well as tool design.
