Objectives

Material laboratory tests are done in groups so that a student learns to know different kind of material testing methods and as a result of that properties of materials. In the manufacturing part a student learns basic methods of turning, milling and welding.

Content

Identification of plastic, tensile test of plastic and steel, impact test, precipitation hardening, jominy test, micro structure of cast iron, Erichsen test, quenching and tempering, metallurgy of welding. Simple pieces are done by welding and machining.
