Objectives
The students become familiar with the basics of technical documentation, symbol standards and electrical drawings. The students learn the basics of computer aided design, drawing features, editing features, editing environment and the use of symbols. They learn to write technical documents, reports and summaries, know the most important information resources, are able to make a methodical information search, know about critical evaluation of sources. They know the basic structure and writing of the final thesis and the basic tools for writing good Finnish.
Content
Getting familiar with computer aided documentation and its principles and learning how it differs from traditional drawing. The basics of using a computer as a means of design. The students know how to interpret technical drawings and are able to communicate using them. The basics of CAD. The theory part of the course contains for example electrical drafting (sähköpiirustuskirja). The students write technical documents, reports and summaries, carry out a methodical information search and review sources critically. The students learn the basic structure and writing of the final thesis and learn to use the most important tools which help to write good Finnish.
