Objectives
The students develop their technological and scientific way of thinking. The students know the scientifical analysis of phenomena as well as applying fundamental theories to electrical and magnetic fields and simple circuits. The students know the physical laws behind the operating principles of different devices and machines. The students are able to present well-grounded solutions to problems.
Content
Electrical field and its applications. Current, migration velocity. Magnetic field and its applications. Electromagnetic induction and its applications. Semi-conductors.
Prerequisites
Basic course in physics or at least 5 physics courses in the upper secondary school or Physics supplementary course.
Further information
Literature to be announced at the beginning of the course. Teaching methods: lectures, demonstrations, calculation assignments, independent work as well as mid-term exams or a final exam. The passed course is evaluated in scale 1-5. Prerequisites: S-11011B or equivalent. Language of tuition: Finnish.
