Objectives

The course takes a practical look what the job description of a structural engineer contains and what happens in structural engineering. The students understand the important factors of measuring; learn to read structures and to brace properly the most common buildings and to understand the basics and differences between different measuring systems.

Content

Concrete and steel types and their strength and transformation characteristics. Finding out the operation for and measuring the forms of strain of the most common elements made of reinforced concrete. Ensuring the functionality of structures in use. Operating principles of compound structures and stressed structures.
