Objectives

The students learn the basics of street planning and water and sewer systems and they also become familiar with the Finnish community planning and especially the design of land use and town plans.

Content

Classification of streets, legislation and administration, different kinds of street plans, basics of street geometry and street design, interpretation of street drawings. Operating principles and piping materials of water and sewage systems. Finnish community planning and especially detailed town planning as a technical process. Town plan markings and regulations and their interpretation. Civil engineering as a profession.
