Objectives
- opiskelija osaa ylläpitää, kehittää ja arvioida kielitaitoaan ja kielenoppimisen taitojaan
- osaa toimia suullisesti ja kirjallisesti vierasta kieltä käyttäen oman ammattialansa monikulttuurisissa työympäristöissä
- ymmärtää, että vieras kieli on avain kansainvälisyyteen ja kansainvälisille työmarkkinoille sekä tiedonhankintaan
- osaa hakea omalla alallaan tarvitsemaansa tietoa eri lähteistä, ymmärtää ja tulkitsee sitä
- ymmärtää vieraan kielen taidon osana kulttuurienvälistä viestintää ja osana ihmisen sivistymistä

Course contents
Getting acquainted with the key vocabulary and communication situations needed in hotel and restaurant management in meaningsful contexts
Teaching methods
Contact teaching based on authentic, communicative, experiential and cooperative methods and independent studying
Assessment methods
Active participation in the planning of one's own learning and work forms of the course, written and oral tasks and self-evaluation. Examination and/or a language portfolio composed during the course
