Objective course: 
Students view nursing as a profession and are able to use the professional skills and proficiency nec-essary to work with clients from different age groups. Students apply nursing research as well as other supportive sciences in their studies. Students use empirical, ethical and aesthetic information. During the course the students become aware with the functions of both healthy and ill patients. They acquire the basic knowledge and skills necessary to promote the health and well being of any given patient.  Students learn how to perform routine medical examinations concerning the vital func-tions and also learn when to refer the client/patient elsewhere. Students know the responsibility taken by the nurse for the patient's medical treatment, and they are able to dispense medication. The students have the measure of the knowledge and skills needed for sound decision-making. They gain competence in observation skills, in the collection of information, in documentation and in analyzing and interpreting information. During the course students gain experience in using the nursing proc-ess. In the course of their studies students become aware of the importance of nursing values and the cooperative relationship between the nurse and client/patient. Students monitor their learning proc-ess and have the measure developing themselves in their profession and professional growth. Stu-dents are capable of adapting their knowledge in nursing during their supervised clinical training.
