Competences developed:
In the Degree Programme in Tourism students will gain a wide special training in the different fields of tourism and business. The aim is to provide students with abilities for working in demanding work tasks from customer services all the way to managerial level in tourism companies and societies both in Finland and abroad. The graduated students have the skills needed in the planning, practice follow-up and development of tourism.
Professional status:
Graduates from the programme can work for example as sales manager, marketing manager, reception manager, resort manager, travelling secretary and an entrepreneur in tourism sector.

Lectures, teamwork, assignments, examination, independent studies
Learning outcomes of programme per academic year:
After the first study year, the students know factors affecting and regulating the tourism environment and tourism business and they can work in diverse cultural environments. They think in a service oriented manner and understand the necessity of profitability in business.
After the second-year studies the students know the congress and conference services and can work in diverse multicultural service situations. They can make profitable choices in business and maintain the service standard.
During the third study year the students develop their management and leadership skills, deepen their knowledge in the professional studies. The students are able to participate in the production and development of tourism services.
